Sheila Tilmouth has been a practising artist since studying at Hornsey College of Art and the Byam Shaw Schools in London the 1970s. Post-graduate study included a travel scholarship to Finland, when she also visited the Arctic Circle and St. Petersburg.
Sheila Tilmouth has exhibited extensively throughout England and has undertaken two residencies supported by Arts Council England. The first was on an Organic farm in Cumbria and the second at Redgrave and Lopham Fen on the Norfolk/ Suffolk border.
She is currently working with museums in the North West exploring the hidden stores of their Natural History Collections. The first exhibition from this collaboration will be at the Whitaker Museum Rossendale in September 2018.
Sheila Tilmouth is a member of Lime Press print studios. She has taught art as a visiting lecturer and run many workshops with adult and community groups.
